The process starts with a custom fabricated
steel frame. |
 |
The flooring system is also being assembled
using construction adhesive and heat-set nails on a jig to assure squareness. |
 |
The frame is then attached to the flooring
system and fitted with heating ducts and insulation. The entire assembly is
then flipped over before moving to the next station. |
 |
The interior assembly begins by laying
linoleum where needed and installing the various components that are
prepared at stations throughout the factory. |
 |
The interior walls are constructed using
jigs and then set in place to create the home's rooms. |
 |
With all major interior work complete, the
exterior walls are moved into position and securely fastened. Roughing in of
the wiring and plumbing is then completed. |
 |
While work continues, the roof system is
assembled using a compound jig that ensures a solid and weather-tight
surface. |
 |
With roughing in complete, insulation has
been installed in the walls. The roof assembly is then lowered into place
over the ceiling panels. |
 |
With the ceiling panels securely fastened
to the roof, the entire assembly is tied into the side walls. The roof is
then insulated and toped with sheeting. |
 |
As work continues to progress on the roof,
carpenters work below installing windows, door and weather barriers . |
 |
The exterior is then finished off with high
quality vinyl siding. Trim work and Soffit and Fascia application is also
finished off as the home reaches the final leg of its journey. |
 |
With the roof system closed up, workers
quickly apply tar paper and fiberglass shingles that are color coordinated
with the home's siding. |
 |
Finish carpenters work diligently to put
the final touches to cabinets, counters and other interior details. |
 |
Before installing trim, unfinished drywall
panels are given a smooth finish by an expert plasterer. |
 |
After a layer of padding, wall-to-wall
carpeting is stretched and secured with tack strips at the walls. |
 |
The last step is finishing the details that
give the home its charm. |
 |
To ensure a safe, comfortable and quality
home it undergoes a close inspection. All electrical, plumbing and
construction problems are identified and corrected before the home gets the
final seal from the government. |
