In July of 2009, Kiducation, a non profit organization, contracted Riverview Homes with the proposal to place their clothing bins at 7 of Riverview's retail locations. RHI's locations are in good areas, along well-traveled roads, which help to increase the amounts of clothing donated. Any unwanted, usable, clothing and shoes can be placed in the bins, and Kiducation empties the bins on a regular schedule. Kiducation then turns the donated clothes into funds, which are distributed to local schools and charities, including the American Cancer Society.
"Riverview Homes has just hit the 4 year mark working with Kiducation," says Robert Fanelli, President of Riverview Homes. Over the course of 4 years, local residents and RHI employees have helped Kiducation collect 78,000 pounds of clothing and shoes. Not only that, but the Kiducation Program has helped Riverview donate $2,300 to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Fanelli states, "We are very happy with the results of the program and plan to continue working with Kiducation in the future."
